[Environmental and Social Contribution Activities]

The Company has been actively promoting environmental protection and social contribution with its customers and as a result keeps on enhancing the corporate value for the Company. As a good corporate citizen, the Company has taken measurement for contributing to the development of local societies.

Regarding to the environmental protection activities, the Company has promoted to its customers to use the WEB statement for substitution of the mailing of paper statement. The Company has attempted to reduce 440 tone of CO2 per month.

Besides, the Company has arranged tree planting activities in domestic cities such as Nanyo City, Miyake Island, Minamishimabara City and overseas countries such as Indonesia, Vietnam and the Great Wall in China.

Regarding to the social contribution activities, the Company has arranged volunteer activities in different social welfare facilities around the country. In addition to these activities, the number of participating employees for the cleaning activities on AEON day every 11th of each month has reached 2,539. In overseas, culture exchange between children from different communities has been organized through the coordination of UNICEF and the Company has given scholarship and sponsorship to students through the AEON scholarship program.

[Support to the Great East Japan Earthquake]

We extend our sincerest sympathy to all those affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake on 11th March 2011. The AEON Group companies is engaged in the assistance of the people in the disaster area, including the supply of aid goods as well as opening stores for use as temporary shelters, with all efforts of group companies and its employees.

The Company has made the following arrangements:

  1. Set up of credit counseling counter and direct dial-free service
  2. Aid for the rebuilding of communities hit by the Great East Japan Earthquake
  3. Donation from 0.1% of the sales transactions of WAON and AEON Card
  4. Emergency Loan for the people in the disaster
  5. Donation from the issuance of non-secured corporate bond

On the management of business, the Company has been striving for gaining trust and meeting with different expectations by positively feedback to customers' opinions.
